Boris Becker once said that the 5th set in a tennis match is no longer about tennis, it's about will. This was also true to the 80km "long day" that just got completed with a dusty finale. The doube marathon day began at 6.30a thursday, and I am writing this on 3 hours sleep at 12.30pm friday. feeling pretty fortunate to get so much rest.

Brandee does bring some "joy" to the race. It all depends on your definition of joy. It was always nice to have Brandee with her smile and humor at the races.

Lawrence, are you suggesting that there is actually "JOY" in a 200 mile race across a desert by people who have to carry their stuff on their backs the entire race? I think the joy would be after the race is over and the first ice cold beer hits your lips!

I can concur that Brandee is an awesome doctor as well as an awesome big sis! Save some of those beauty tips for me when I join you for the next race in CHILE!!!

I would agree. I have been on several races and she does bring some joy to the race.

I believe that Dr. Brandee is the best doctor in the entire world! The competitors, other staff, and Racing the Planet management are SO lucky to have her on the staff. She also teaches aerobics classes and runs a charm school for other female doctors heading for the desert. The fact that I'm her father has no bearing on these comments at all, trust me!

Thanks so much for your posting! My husband, Erik Hunt is a fellow competitor from Brentwood, Tn and I have not heard from him since Wednesday. It helped to hear how things are going and that you still have your sense of humor! ha I hope and pray it will sustain you and the others in your adventure! Best Wishes! Sandy
